Helps to ease the driver’s steering effort when maneuvering at low speeds, reduces the steering effort needed to return the heavy-duty truck to center and adapts to crowned road surfaces, reducing the need to correct steering over long stretches of uneven road.
Engineers worked to make this already powerful engine perform more efficiently by optimizing its cooling capacity by way of a large radiator and fan, and improving the air induction system. The dual-path intake system draws dense, cool air through both the hood scoop and the larger grille to enhance its performance. And to help maintain optimal operating temperatures, Sierra Heavy Duty models equipped with the available Duramax Diesel feature an integrated engine after-run cooling function, which can continue to idle the engine after extended and exhaustive periods of use, allowing for proper cool-down of vital underhood components.
Sierra was the first heavy-duty truck in its class to offer a 2-speed AutoTrac® transfer case with an active automatic 4WD setting, which provides seamless shifting between two- and four-wheel drive based on road conditions.
In both corners of the rear bumper, large footwells, lined with an anti-slip texture and sized for large boots, help make access to the cargo bed easier than ever. Standard on all Sierra Heavy Duty models.
Backseat passengers are sure to be comfortable with the spacious rear leg room on Crew Cab models.
When on the road in the Sierra Heavy Duty, it’s OK to leave the cords at home. The wireless charging pad, located within easy reach near the cup holders, has excellent charging abilities. Wireless phone projection via Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™.
